DOWNTOWN ROCK SPRINGS — The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency (URA) has named the men’s group from the White Mountain Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as its July Volunteers of the Month, highlighting their work in getting Downtown’s beloved International Santas ready for the upcoming holiday season.
In July, the group pitched in over 30 hours of service during an evening dedicated to painting and restoring the life-sized figures.
Their efforts ensure the popular local attraction will be in top shape to welcome thousands of holiday visitors later this year.

For the group, rolling up their sleeves for Downtown Rock Springs was a natural expression of their values.
“Service is central to our faith—it’s something we strive to live, not just talk about,” said event organizer Dylan Powell.
“We’re thankful to be part of a wonderful community, and painting the Santas was a small way to give back while spending a fun evening together.”
Supporting a Local Tradition
Restoring and maintaining the extensive collection takes significant preparation each summer ahead of the winter festivities.
“The International Santas have become a favorite holiday tradition for so many families,” said Chad Banks, Manager of Rock Springs Main Street/URA.
“Preparing dozens of life-sized figures for display is no small task, and this group jumped in with enthusiasm and a willingness to help.
Their generosity of time and talent will have a lasting impact on this year’s Christmas season, and we’re incredibly grateful.”

“Our organization is truly volunteer-based and volunteer-driven.
