Lenora Mae Rose (Barr, Wakin), lovingly known as Nora, passed away at her home in Napa, California, on Jan. 29, 2026, at the age of 62. 
Born on Sept. 13, 1963, in Wahiawa, Hawaii, on the North Shore of Oahu, to Ellen Leilani Martin and Clyde Barr, Nora grew up immersed in Hawaiian culture. 
She learned hula and grew passionate for the native music, developed a deep love for the islands’ lands, and carried that connection throughout her life. 
As a dedicated nurse, Nora compassionately cared for all, humans and animals alike, and volunteered her skills in her community until her final days. 
She found great joy in gardening, birding, DIY projects, coloring, books, crystals, and the simple, grounded life of sheep breeding in the California Central Valley. 
A committed Buddhist, she lived with deep spirituality. 
Nora was a strong, resourceful, and resilient woman who always rose after every fall. 
Her excitement for life and her spirit touched all who knew her. 
She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Ellen Leilani Martin, and siblings Jerome Bustos, Clyde Barr, and Lisa Barr. 
Nora is survived by her cherished children: Jayme Wise Danylchuk (Mike), Leilani Wakin, Vilma Diaz (Jesse), Deborah Wakin, and Frank Wakin (Emani); her adored grandchildren: Dominic, Ezrae, Mokihana, Chickory, Adan, Mahina, Mykaela, and Ayana; and her siblings Deborah Bustos and Richard Barr. 
A celebration of Nora’s life will be held at Sir Winston Funeral Services (515 Broadway, Vallejo, CA 94590) on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with in-person and virtual options.
