CASPER, Wyo.  A yearling bear went on quite the adventure on Friday, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
A local dispatch call revealed that a young bear had been found in a residential garage in east Casper Friday evening.
“Yes, it did happen,” Game and Fish PIO Janet Milek told Oil City News on Saturday.
“It was a yearling bear who appeared to have recently been weaned.”
Milek said that she believes that the baby bear was out “looking for new territory” after its mom kicked it out on its own.
“It was in the garage and he was incredibly scared and hiding,” Milek stated.
She said that this behavior is not unusual for a young bear looking for a hew home; they oftentimes end up in places that they shouldn’t be in.
“We were able to immobilize and safely relocate this bear,” Milek said.
She shared that, while this occurrence is unusual for homeowners, it's not all that unusual for bears.
“We have a few every year,” she said.
