Hurricanes forward Marcus Allen was hoping to return to the court this year after missing most of the 2025-26 season as he battled cancer.
His comeback will have to wait.
Miami announced Monday that the junior forward will miss the 2026-27 season with an ACL tear.
Allen, a Miami native, transferred from Missouri to UM before the 2025-26 season.
He played in eight games, averaging 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds, before he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Allen missed the remainder of the season.
On June 30, Allen announced he was cancer-free on his Instagram page.
“Thank you everyone for the prayers, love and support throughout these last couple of months,” Allen wrote.
“It allowed me to fight and keep going through each round of chemo.”
