Un avión con 147 migrantes venezolanos procedentes de Estados Unidos aterrizó este lunes en el estado Anzoátegui, en el primer vuelo de repatriación que llega a Venezuela desde los terremotos del pasado 24 de junio. 
El programa gubernamental Gran Misión Vuelta a la Patria informó que en el vuelo, procedente de Miami, viajaban 132 hombres y 15 mujeres, quienes fueron recibidos en el Aeropuerto Internacional General José Antonio Anzoátegui, en la ciudad de Barcelona. 
Con este vuelo, Venezuela reanudó las repatriaciones desde Estados Unidos, interrumpidas por los terremotos que dañaron el Aeropuerto Internacional Simón Bolívar , el principal aeropuerto del país ubicado en el estado La Guaira, el más golpeado por los fuertes terremotos. 
En un mensaje publicado en redes sociales , el jefe de Vuelta a la Patria, Mervin Maldonado, dio la bienvenida a los migrantes y dijo que “regresan a sus casas, a reencontrarse con sus familias, a seguir formándose, ser productivos y contribuyendo al desarrollo nacional”. 
Según el programa de repatriación venezolano, este fue el vuelo número 165 desde principios de 2025, cuando Caracas y Washington retomaron los vuelos de deportaciones como parte de un acuerdo migratorio. 
Venezuela había dejado de aceptar vuelos de repatriación desde Estados Unidos en febrero de 2024 en respuesta a las sanciones estadounidenses al país. 
El vuelo anterior a este, procedente de Miami, llegó el 24 de junio, pocas horas antes de que los terremotos sacudieran el centro-norte de Venezuela. 
Familiares de algunos de los deportados denunciaron que, tras ser trasladados a un hotel en La Guaira como parte del proceso de repatriación, quedaron atrapados cuando el edificio colapsó. 
Las cifras de muertos por los terremotos superaban los 6.000 hasta este lunes, según las estadísticas más recientes publicadas por el presidente de la Asamblea General, Jorge Rodríguez.
