BLUFFTON — Three juveniles carrying firearms were arrested inside Sam’s Club after an anonymous caller alerted law enforcement to their presence in the store. 
The call, made shortly after 5 p.m. 
July 29, reported that the three were dressed in black and believed to be armed. 
Deputies detained the suspects and discovered each was carrying a firearm. 
Two handguns were recovered. 
One of the pistols had been modified with a device, often referred to as a switch, enabling it to fire automatically like a machine gun. 
One suspect was found to be concealing a .22-caliber rifle in his pant leg. 
Deputies also recovered firearm accessories, ammunition, marijuana, masks and drug paraphernalia. 
All three juveniles were arrested and charged with various offenses including: 
possession of a machine gun 
unlawful possession of a handgun 
possession of marijuana 
The juveniles were transported to the S.C. 
Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. 
The cases will be prosecuted by the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office in Family Court. 
The arrest comes less than a month after two groups of young people exchanged gunfire on Hilton Head’s Coligny Beach on July 4. 
That shooting injured eight people. 
So far, seven have been arrested. 
A handgun modified to fire like a machine gun was also one of several weapons recovered following that shooting.
